I have to admit, sometimes my appetite gets the best of me and I get off course a little bit. It has caused a five pound weight gain. That is as far as I will let that go. When this happens, you brush yourself off and get back on course as soon as you realize it. There are steps to take to make this happen.

1) Eat healthy. Fruits and vegetables are important. Keep your starches to a minimum and eat protein at every meal. Eat smaller portions slowly. You will get full on a smaller amount of food if you take your time.

2) Drink lots of water. I drink 75+ ounces of water a day. Divide your weight in half and that is how much you should be drinking. I am at 150 and half of that weight is 75. It helps flush your system and is great for you. Add your favorite low calorie flavoring if you are not a fan of drinking water. This is an important step and should not be skipped.

3) Exercise, Exercise, Exercise! This does not help you lose weight, but it is good for you. It increases your endorphins, energy, and keeps your body fit and healthy. In

numerous posts, I have discussed my workout classes. Participating in them has become a part of my routine. The ladies I work out with are great and we are going through this together. Having those friendships are crucial for me and I wouldn't trade this part of my health journey for anything. Walking with my husband as well. We have some of our best conversations on these outings. Find what makes you happy and will be sustainable for you. You will be glad you did!

4) Stay focused. I took my eyes off of my goals slightly and now it is time to get back on point. These things happen and you don't need to beat yourself up about it. When you realize it is a reality, follow the steps that you were doing before and all will be corrected with time. No worries!

Don't give up! You got this!

2 Chronicles 15:7- "But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded."

Our oldest Grumble is visiting from South Korea. This is her first time back in the US in 3 years. She teaches English as a second language to middle school aged children. We are sooo very proud of her.
