Human Moments

I recently had an incident happen that caused great anxiety. When these types of occasions occur, many times it would cause me to eat large quantities of junk food to comfort myself. Now, I handle these times with exercise. There is nothing like beating an exercise ball with drumsticks to deal with those emotions or taking walks with my husband. I had to learn to focus my frustration. Some times are harder than others and my emotions get the best of me. This is when I hope that the people around me will allow me to have my human moment.
It was an honest mistake. I understood what had happened and am thankful to those who helped resolve the situation. Posting my frustration on Facebook was my human moment. I have watched several of my friends have these types of emotions and I have understood. Sometimes you just need the support of those around you. This was my time and am beyond thankful for the love and care I received in my time of crisis.
It is interesting to me that we have come to a place where we have to hide how we feel and not show emotion. I sometimes wonder if that is why so many people struggle with anxiety and depression? Maybe they don't feel they can express themselves. They turn to food and other things to cope. Things that are not good but that is all they know to do...
Our faith and support system is what keeps us going. Knowing that we can be our true selves with those around us helps us to live a healthy life. It's ok to be human and have those moments when we are vulnerable (within reason, of course). Sharing life with others through the good and bad circumstances is what life should be about. Life is not always rainbows and roses. It is hard and annoying sometimes, but if we learn to support each other through these times, imagine how great life can be. As I like to say, it would be one great big hug with lots of love. I am sending it to you and you are free to have your human moment around me. I can take it. Can you?
1 Thessalonians 5:11- "Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."
