Journal entry for 5/20/24

One of the things I have discovered through Noom, while changing my food habits, is I don't have to give up on my favorite foods. Getting a small bowl and putting a serving size of my favorite treat inside, I eat less and enjoy my snack. You know, I could plow through a Party Size bag of potato chips or eat more than a row of Oreos without even thinking about it! *gasp* I ate WAY too much and I felt it after!

Now I eat my snack slowly and truly enjoy the flavors. My realization that I was not really tasting my food, as I devoured it like the Tasmanian Devil, helped me to understand the importance of taking my time and really delighting in the flavors and textures of my food. You don't overindulge when you take your time! This was an important fact that I needed to learn and incorporate into my life habits. Doing it 1 to 2 times a week, I don't feel like I am missing out. I am more likely to stay the course of eating healthy by enjoying these little breaks.

It's a simple enough concept, but not as easy to accomplish at first. It takes time, but when I did finally get it, it made all the difference in the world. Less calories means less weight on me in the long run.

Bowls are very important for getting my eating habits under control. A bowl a snack keeps the pounds away!! I had to experience it for myself and it proved to be a valuable lesson.

1 Corinthians 10:13- "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

Bowls!!!

These are the small bowls I use for snacks.
